epsi Cola International, Somers, NY
We helped Pepsi save an estimated $2.7 M USD. We discovered that one of the system's objectives could not be met because distribution data did not exist. We accomplished the remaining goals of this scheduled 1.5-year database redesign project, which affected 12 systems in 52 countries, in 5 hours. We recognized that a presentation layer of views would meet the objectives, without database redesign or risk to operational systems. We also mentored a developer in failure prevention.
Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors, San Francisco, CA
We helped Wells Fargo Nikko increase profit by an estimated $800,000+ USD per year. We designed an algorithm to optimize how bills are calculated, given the existing contractual billing agreements. WFNIA subcontracted a moonlighting programmer for under $8,000 to code the algorithm we created.
Chevron Canada Vancouver, BC
We created a performance prototype to assess the throughput for a mission-critical OLTP system. Our assessment confirmed Chevron's leading-edge technology choices. Morale improved when the fear of high risk was invalidated. Chevron's project came in on time, on budget, with full functionality.
US Dept. of Transportation and BDM Technologies
We saved BDM's project, which was threatened by a last-minute switch of database vendors and no schedule change. We brought in a team that, working at night on existing equipment, converted 72 man-months of code from SQL Server to Oracle in seven weeks, while BDM's day shift continued to make forward progress on their schedule.
Litton Computer Services, Woodland Hills, CA
We helped Litton save an estimated $5.2 M USD. Our assessment revealed conversion data required for the success of the project did not exist. Project was cancelled and resources were redeployed.
